The footprints of Khayyam on recent Revolution:
The second poet whose effect I see on this Iranian Revolution. is Khayyam
Khayyam:
1- he lived in the 12th century; nobody knew that he was a poet in his life except his close friends. Hypocritical ascetics were against him, he hid his poems from them. He was known for his contributions to mathematics, astronomy, and philosophy. Fifty years after his death, his book was published-
2- He believed in living in the present.
3- He didn’t care about going to heaven or hell.
4- He was against ascetics
5- In his poems, constantly reminds readers of how temporary life
is.
6 - In his poems, he recommends Dancing, drinking, and loving each other.
7- he believed we have to Enjoy our life and be happy if we can. There is no
another world except for this earthly one.
These girls who are on the streets want to live their life. They don’t care about heaven or hell.
They dance by the fire and in the middle of the storm, as Khayyam said hundreds of years ago. This is a ritual that we call khyyami, dancing in the grief, Dancing in pain
These days we can see hundreds of videos of mothers who have lost their children - most of them are dancing, A dance that is a sign of protest, anger, and life.
